Thanks for the link HK, your comment was directed to the spam box so I've only just read it. Interesting to see that the proofhide treatment is not the quickest route to saddle nirvana - I've just invested in some Neatsfoot oil. I'll see if that does the trick.

Gel saddle cover, get one now! Although your saddle really is a thing of beauty. Take care and hope the running is less challenging soon: it's dips and troughs with this running lark, isn't it?

I think I'd have answered incorrectly if it meant getting my bits and pieces tickled with a feather!

I have a leather saddle on my Brompton and like everyone else I will tell you they are perfect for the bike, once they are worn in.

There is a good article on leather saddles <a href="http://www.sheldonbrown.com/leather.html" rel="nofollow">here</a>

in the meantime make sure the height of your saddle is correct. This can sometimes be a bit approximate when you unfold but it does make sense to work out exactly how far you need to pull-out the seat post. I know it took me a bit of time to get this right and riding too high with the Brooks was uncomfortable.

As for the 2k thing - just think of that as the toxic period before you are fully warmed up

Good luck

Now really I shouldn't have laughed at your misfortune but you did pen that rather well..... Get a NEW SADDLE... I have a specialized ladies Jett thingy... honestly it did more then safe my bacon I can tell you... although pins and needles does sound a bit horrid (mine was more like excruciating pain of the nether regions and a day or two of bruising).... Goodluck with the MRI, much better then having an internal! ;o)
